Tips For Reaching Your Goals

Each year millions of people set out to achieve their goals. Often they start with the greatest of intentions, feeling fully committed and full of energy for their work ahead yet most times they never make it to the finish line.

Setting goals often seems like a simple task. Take certain actions and get specific results. Seems simple, right? So why do so many people fail to reach their objective when they set goals? Why is setting goals so easy yet achieving those goal is so hard?

The reason is simple!

In fact there are a few reasons why you may not have reached your goals and they are as easy to fix as it is to set the goal in the first place!

Here are a few reasons for failure when it comes to goals and the remedies for them:

1. Not taking action!

Goal setting is no more than wishful thinking if you do not take action steps to reach your objective. “Without works faith is dead” the Bible tells us. If you do not take action then all the belief in the world that you will reach your goal is useless. You must take action!

2. Failure to be specific!

Many people set goals that are very nebulous in nature; they have no real structure and are wishy-washy at best. Wanting more money is not a goal. Desiring a better job is not a goal. Yearning for your perfect partner is not a goal.

You must be specific. How much money do you want? What type of job will utilise your talents best, reward you financially and give you a sense of job satisfaction? What characteristics does your perfect partner have?

Get specific!

3. No deadline!

Set a deadline for your goals. This will keep you motivated to take action. Ensure you set smaller stepping-stone goals (with deadlines) so that when you achieve each you have physical proof that you are getting closer to your main goal!

4. No strong reasons for wanting the goal!

With knowing why you want to achieve a goal you will never complete the necessary tasks required to achieve it.

Your reason for wanting the goal should be strong enough to keep you motivated. A person who needs to feed their family is motivated to find food regardless of what it takes – they will never give up! You must feel as strongly about your goals so that failure becomes unacceptable and impossible!

5. Subconscious blocks!

You must remove your subconscious blocks to success and goal achievement. This is the most insidious reason for failure and the most overlooked!

When you remove your negative subconscious programming to success the road to goal achievement becomes much easier and straighter!
