Instant Hypnosis!
Traditional hypnosis induction techniques involve a fairly lengthy process. This process involves relaxation exercises, lead by the hypnotist, and slow monotone voice commands. However there are some methods that produce immediate trance states which are often referred to as "Instant Hypnosis".To produce this immediate or instant hypnosis there are two instant induction techniques which work very effectively. With the major advancements made in our knowledge of the mind and consciousness it is not surprising that we can now induce a hypnotic state very quickly!
The first technique for instant induction that we will look at does involve the initial trance state to be entered into via traditional means. Through a normal induction cycle of hypnotic commands and relaxation exercises a subject is lead into a trance state. Once the subject is in a deep enough state post hypnotic suggestions are then given, by the hypnotist, that a keyword, gesture or combination of the two will result in an immediate return to the hypnotic state.
This approach proves to be very effective and the post hypnotic suggestion will remain active and effective until it is overwritten or removed during another trance session!
Although this approach is definitely advantageous and removes the need to lengthy induction before every hypnotic session it does have its drawbacks. In order to instil the post hypnotic command the lengthy process of induction must be performed at least once. On some occasions, and with some subjects, these post hypnotic suggestions must be given 3 or more times. This means 3 or more traditional induction sessions!
The second approach bypasses the need for traditional induction techniques altogether. This type of instant induction is possible without the need to b initially hypnotized at all!
For this approach to work the hypnotists has to lay some foundations and do some groundwork usually without the subject even knowing what is happening. Hypnotic language often plays a key role in this where subliminal messages are sent to the subject via the tonality and spacing of the hypnotists’ words.
The subject must also be lead to believe that something usual is about to occur and have faith in the abilities of the hypnotist.
Once the groundwork has been done it is then just a matter of the hypnotist snapping his fingers, making a gesture or saying a word to send the subject immediately into trance.
In order to gain the correct mindset from the subject a hypnotists will often make them perform a simple task such as clasping their hands together. With thus of hypnotic language and psychology the hypnotists will then convince the subject that they cannot open their hands. This simple exercise is usually enough to convince the subject that the hypnotist has the ability to send him into immediate trance!
Using similar types of hypnotic language it is also possible to send someone into a mild state of trance without them even knowing it. Anyone in the UK who has watched Derren Brown will have seen this type of hypnotic language used very skilfully.
