Focus - The Power Behind Manifestation

Unfortunately the majority of people on our lavish little green planet are not happy with their 'lot' in life. They are living lives of quiet desperation, unsatisfied with their relationships, careers or finances.

What is the main reason for this dissatisfaction? The main reason I believe this is so is due to a lack of understanding about the nature of our universe which can be directly linked to our belief conditioning from childhood.

As a child we begin to replicate the conditioning of our parents. A person's beliefs and values are often passed from generation to generation until someone down the generations either has a life-changing experience or consciously reorganises or changes their belief system.

Your beliefs and values determine your focus and a key point I make in all my writings on personal development is the simple truth that "your focus determines your reality". Focus sets in motion the Law of Attraction. (See Wealth Beyond Reason for instructions on using the law of attraction.)

The internal dialogue and imaginings of your mind are guided by your focus and your focus is reflected in your thinking. Your thinking becomes automatic and therefore this becomes your automatic creation system.

If you are not currently living a life that is in correspondence with your desires it is due to your internal automatic creation system being out of alignment with your goals. Simply put this means: Your focus is on what you do not want instead of what you want!

Let's say you have bills piling up everywhere and no way of paying them. When you receive post through the mail what is your first thought? I bet it goes something like this, "oh no not more bills". Where is your focus directed?

Why do the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? Well a rich man has money and he knows it. He sees wealth all around him. The poor person sees lack and concentrates on it. Can you see the difference in focus?

Now there are there are two basic ways to redirect your focus. The first is to change your beliefs so that your focus becomes more automatic in the direction that you wish it to go. The second way is to consciously redirect your attention to situations, people or events that correspond to a new belief.

This, however, is often easier said than done. For example examine the beliefs of a racist who thinks that he is superior to another person due to his heritage, skin colour, or ethnic origins. Now any right thinking person knows that these beliefs have no foundation in reality (subjective or otherwise). So in order to change these beliefs, at a core level, the racist would need to have some contact with other racial groups that have equal or better results in areas of their lives than he does. If he believes he is more intelligent then he would need to see that there are highly intelligent people of all races. If he believes that he is more prone to being successful because of his genetics then he would need to see that there are people of all races who achieve success with ease. If he believes that he is more equipped to overcome obstacles than members of another race then he would need to know that people from all walks of life and different cultures have achieved against seemingly insurmountable odds at great hardship to themselves and so on!

The problem with this is FOCUS! In most cases the racist does not want to see these things. He focuses on the situations, people and events that correspond and reinforce his beliefs! In extreme circumstances such a person will not even be in the company, correspond with, or listen about members of the group he is racist against.

You and I do exactly the same thing everyday. If your life is similar today to yesterday, last week or last year it is primarily because your focus has remained the same. Your thoughts yesterday where the same as last week and if your thoughts and focus are the same today then you can expect tomorrow to bring the same results!

If your beliefs are challenged by what you see, hear or experience many times you simply disregard the information and continue 'blindly' believing what you chose to believe. We filter our reality so that is reinforces our beliefs. We need to break free from this self-imposed brain-washing and redirect our focus on the things that will reinforce a new belief until we actually come to belief it.

For example take a couple in a 'bad' relationship. They come home from work and just know that they are going to have an argument with their spouse. Sure enough they arrive home and argue about who is taking the dog for a walk, what to watch on TV or why they argue so much! Where is the focus in this relationship?

Let's say they decide to try an experiment in beliefs and focus. They look at what IS working in the relationship. They recall the reasons why they first became a couple and begin to reinforce the things they have in common. Their focus is beginning to shift. Although they will probably fall back into some old routines of arguing again if they keep their focus on their shared interests and the things in their relationship that are working what do you think the effect will be?

Try this little experiment yourself. Choose a person who annoys you in some way and that you can't avoid but would if the choice where yours. A work colleague is a good example. Can you think of one? OK, what are you focusing on about that person? I bet it is all the things they do that annoy you. Try to think of something they do that you admire of that you like. This can be sometimes difficult but remember that every person has good and bad qualities so try not to become too polarised about people thinking them either good or bad - they are just human beings.

Now for a few days try your best to focus on the things you like or admire about them and watch what happens.

After you have tried this little experiment try other small ones in other areas of your life that you wish to improve.

What Is The Law Of Attraction? Can You Get It To Work For You?

What is the Law Of Attraction really? Can it work for you? Let's explore these questions a little.law of attraction

The Law of Attraction basically is the term given to the phenomenon of getting more of what you focus on. The law states that whatever you focus on or concentrate on will expand in your life. So if you focus or concentrate on your lack of money you will create more lack of money in your life. If you focus on the wealth and money you already have then you will attract or create more wealth and money into your life.

So if this is so simple to implement - just think about what you do want and not what you don't want, why do so many people find it hard to get this great law to work for them?

Well it is sad but the great majority of people on our planet are not happy with their lives. They look around them and see only the things that make them feel dissatisfied and unhappy. What is the main reason for this discontent? The predominant reason I believe this is so is due to a lack of understanding about the nature of our universe which can be directly connected to our thought programming from childhood.

As a child we begin to replicate the thought patterns of our parents. A person's beliefs and values are often passed from parent to parent until a person down the generations either has a life-changing experience or on a conscious level reorganises or reorganizes their belief system.

Your beliefs and values predestine your focus and a key point I make in all my writings on individual development is the uncomplicated truth that "your focus determines your reality". Focus sets forth the Law of Attraction.

The internal talk and imaginings of your mind are guided by your focus and it is your focus is reflected in your thinking. Your thinking becomes mechanical and therefore this becomes your predictable creation.

If you are not at this very minute living a life that is in accordance with your goals it is due to your internal predictable creation system being out of alignment with your wants. Simply put this translates to the following: Your focus is concentrated what you do not want instead of what you want!

Let's say you have payments due coming from everywhere and no way of paying them. When you get post through the mail what is your first thought? I'm sure it goes a little like this, "it never rains but it pours". Where do you think your focus being placed?

Why do the rich get wealthier and the poor get more down-trodden? Well a rich man has riches and he knows it. He sees money all around him. The poor person is aware of lack and focuses on it. Can you see the difference in focus?

Now there are there are 2 fundamental exercises to redirect your focus. The first is to change your beliefs so that your focus becomes more unconscious but in the direction that you wish it to go. The second way is to consciously redirect your attention to situations, persons or effects that correspond to new beliefs.

However this is often easier to say than to do. For example take a look at the beliefs of a person who has racial tendencies who thinks that he is superior to another person due to his culture, skin tone, or ethnic origins. It is safe to say that any ethical person knows that these beliefs have no foundation in reality (subjective or otherwise). So in order to change these beliefs, at a deep level, the racist would need to have some contact with other racial groups that have equal or better results in areas of their lives than he does. If he believes he is smarter then he would need to see that there are very intelligent people of all ethnic backgrounds. If he believes that he is more likely to being successful because of his colour then he would need to see that there are people of all origins who achieve success with ease. If he thinks that he is more likely to overcome obstacles than members of another race then he would need to know that people from all walks of life and different origins have succeeded against seemingly insurmountable odds at great strain to themselves and so on!

The problem with this is in the person's Focus or how they are choosing to look at their personal world! In the majority of cases the racist doesn't want to see these things. His focus is on the situations, persons and events that back-up and strengthen his beliefs! In some cases this type of a person will not allow himself to be in the same space, have dialogue with, or listen about people of the group he is racist toward.

You and I have been known to do precisely the same thing everyday. If your life is similar today as it was yesterday, last week or even last year it is primarily because your attention and your focus has remained the same. Your thoughts yesterday where the same as last week and if your beliefs and focus are the same today then you can expect the next day to bring the same results!

If your beliefs are challenged by that which you see, hear or experience at many times you simply ignore the information and just continue believing what you want to believe. Basically what we do is filter our reality so that what we are aware of reinforces our beliefs. We need to break free from this self-imposed hypnotic trance and direct our focus on the things that will strengthen a new belief until we completely come to belief it is a fact.

For example take a couple in a 'bad' relationship. The man or woman may come home from work knowing that they are going to have an argument with their other-half. Sure enough they arrive home and low-and-behold argue about who is taking the dog for a walk, what to watch on television or why they argue so much! Where imagine the focus in this partnership?

Let's say they decide to try to develop some new beliefs and focus. They look at the things that are working in that particular relationship. They recall the reasons why they first became a couple and begin to reinforce the things they have in common. Their internal attention and how they are focusing their minds is beginning to alter. Although they will probably fall back into some old routines of arguing again if they keep their focus on common interests and the things in their relationship that are working what do you think the effect will be?

Try this little experiment yourself. Pick a person who annoys you in some way and that you are unable to avoid but would if the choice where yours. A work colleague is a good example. Have you got one? Are you able to see what are you focusing on about that person? I am sure it is all the things that are annoying to you. Try to think of something they do that you admire of that you like. This can be hard to do but remember that everyone has good and undesirable qualities so try not to become too polarised about people believing them either totally great or totally bad - all of us are just people.

So, for a four or five days as best you can, try to focus on the things you like or admire about that person and you will be surprised at what occurs.

After you have tried this small experiment try other experiments in other areas of your life setting your targets higher each time until you begin to get what you want.

The Secret
There are a lot of people speking out about the dangers of the DVD The Secret. Now let me tell you this, history has shown us that when a "new" idea is presented to the world it is immediately debunked by the authorities of the day. Luckily however we live in the Information Age and almost anyone can get their hands on information almost instantly.

It is therefore much harder for the so-called experts of today to tell people "listen to me, I'm an expert and I know what I'm talking about". The beauty of this age we live in is that people can check out what they are being told can formulate their own opinion on it!

As the The Secret deals primarily with the Law of Attraction and how to use it to your advantage many "experts" feel threatened by its message. It places the responsibility for your life firmily at your own feet and goes against the draconian views held by many aging scientists and psychologists! When debunking the subject these experts fail to properly address Quantun Physics which points to the fact that Mind creates Matter! The new science of today is begining to prove what avatars and sages have said for thousands of years.

But..... I am not claiming to be an expert and even if I was I would still say this....check it out for yourself! If you are reading this blog post then you have access to millions of resources, right now, and can literally get instant access to any information you need with a few keystrokes and a click of a button.

Investigate the Law of Attraction for yourself and test it! Don't take my word for it or anyone else's. Try it and see for yourself whether it works or not!

Law of Attraction
Topic: Personal Development
I would love to hear from anyone who has been using the law of attraction for some time in their personal development. I believe Rhonda Byrne, who created The Secret, only learned of it in 2004. Two years to create a DVD that has, undoubtably, made her very wealthy, insn't bad going!

I have had great success using the Law as outlined in the DVD and Bob Doyle's Wealth Beyond Reason course. I have "attracted" a top 10 position for my Personal Development site in a short few weeks and sorted out a long-standing relationship problem that had been severe for about 8 months and was threatening to end the relationship.

I believe that the successful stories, about using the law of attraction, would not only help myself but other visitors to this blog. So please feel free to share your stories in comments and, with your permission, I will post them openly on the blog.

The Secret
Topic: Personal Development
I would like to share a comment I received on a blog post about the secret from Sydney Jones of http://www.blogthebible.com
. He said:

"Consciously or subconsciously we all knew the secret & we have been living with it for all our lives. However what Rhonda & her team have done is that, they have made all of us aware of this fact. I don’t know if the secret will help me achieve all the things that I desire but yes since I have watched the movie I am feeling good & it seems like everything happening around me is great & it will be so for the rest of my life.

I work with a non-profit organization Blog The Bible, where we discuss all the things which can make you happy & also relate to Jesus & Bible at the same time. I think if The Secret can generate the same happiness within all of us then there is no harm in believing the Law of Attraction.

We all have experienced it, whenever we feel good & happy we think of god, we think of Jesus, we think of Bible. So I would say that no matter what everybody thinks but this DVD has surely brought me close Jesus, Bible & at last Happiness."

I would like to say that I agree mostly with what Sydney says although I don't think the Law of Attraction has anything to do with religion and certainly not any one religion in particular.

The Law of Attraction is about the internal workings of the Universe (God's mechanism for life and evolution, if you prefer). This law works regardless of whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim or atheist! However, if the this law helps you connected to and understand the creator of the universe then that can't be a bad thing. I just think that we should steer clear of giving it any religious connotations. It's all about personal development.

Thanks Sydney for your comment.

Therapy
Topic: Hypnosis
If you wish to get powerful, lasting, quick results from therapy it stands to reason that the methods being used much be able to reach, and have an affect on, the subconscious mind. It is the subconscious part of our mind which regulates the emotions, imagination, memory, habits, intuition, and is the biggest contributing factor in our automatic behaviors and reactions.

Traditionally therapy methods, such as psychoanalysis just take too long in my opinion because they do not directly make contact with the subconscious. Everything is dealt with on a conscious level and I believe this is why some people can be in therapy for years and never see any tangible real-life results.

I would like to see the mental health industry move further afield and investigate alternative ways of dealing with mental difficulties and emotional issues. There are many great personal development programs like the Sedona Method or even Hypnosis and Self Hypnosis that would make the healing process not only quicker but also lasting and further reaching.

What is Personal Development?

Personal Development, in my view, is all about Personal Growth! Unfortunately though, many personal development programs do emphasis this enough. Sure there are courses and techniques to help you master physical life through visualization, affirmations or the use of the Law of Attraction etc. But how many actually advocate spiritual mental, physical and growth?

I purpose that learning to manifest your desires is an important aspect of personal development but it is only one aspect of it. What use is accumulating physical "stuff" if we do not attain happiness?

Now there are personal development courses that deal with personal growth on all levels, like the Sedona Method but I don't think there are enough of them.

In my own personal journey I found that I could manifest little in the area of physical stuff until I had dealt with my own inner demons and grow spiritually. Even the things that I did manifest did not bring me happiness - I was always striving for more not taking the time to enjoy what I had in the moment!

Only once I decided to work on my personal growth issues and face my own inner mind did things really begin to change for me.

So if you truly want a better life I would suggest you first look inward and begin to do the things that will remove your own blocks, negative thinking and personal issues that are making you feel unhappy. Once you begin to do that everything in the outside world begins to fall into place and the things you want start to flow. You will be able to utilize more of the personal development techniques and products that are available to you and will be much happier on the inside!

Personal Development = Personal Growth!

Law of Attraction Mistakes
Topic: Personal Development
I know a few people who say that they have tried to use the law of attraction to manifest their desires but have been unsuccessful in their attempts. They say they have watched The Secret many times and applied all the advice given in it but can't manifest their desires.

Does this sound like you?

Well, I was like that for a long time and it took me about 20 years before I really got it! My Personal Development didn't involve enough Personal Growth! You see I was making two fatal errors!

These errors are really not separate but are very much connected, as you will see. The first involved my emotions. I failed to generate enough positive energy around my desires. When focusing on what you want, it is really necessary to feel good! You must generate strong positive emotions and feel the sensations that you expect to have when you achieve your goal! This is actually relatively easy if you are going for things that you really want. Can you imagine just how good you will feel when you have that relationship, car, house, money etc.?

Now the next fatal error is focusing on the lack of what you want. Most people believe they are focusing on their desire when in fact they are focusing on the lack of it! You think to yourself "I would like a loving relationship", you momentarily feel the loving feelings that such a relationship would generate in you but then you start to focus on the fact that you without your perfect person, not a part of a couple, single, are eating alone again! etc. You internally or externally complain about being alone and you express how much you want this relationship while all the time thinking and feeling the lack of it!

Can you see how the two errors tie in with each other?

By focusing on the lack you are generating negative emotions around what you don't want and this keeps things that way or makes them even worse!!

The key is to only focus on what you want!

Use your emotions as a guide - a sort of feedback system that tells you if what you are thinking is making you feel good. If it does then keep doing it. If what you're thinking is making you feel bad then turn the thoughts around until you feel good.

This way you will stay focused on what you actually want and not the lack of it!

Try it & good luck!

Law Of Attraction
Topic: Personal Development
I have been messing around with some of the techniques from Jerry & Ester Hicks book Ask & It Is Given. The book centers around the teachings of Abraham - a group of non-physical entities channeled through Ester. Their basic teachings revolve around the Law Of Attraction. They teach you how this law affects every area of your life. But they also give you 22 processes to try, some of which are in the form of games, so that you can utilize this powerful law to create anything you want in life.

Well guess what? IT WORKS!

I have been using several of the techniques for a few weeks now and have seen some tremendous results in my life. Situations just seem to occur that bring me effortlessly to where I want to go. People, things and circumstances just show up out of nowhere and things fall into place.

It really is all about changing your thinking and once you do that you change your life. The thing about this book is entertainment value along with the processes and their ease of use.

Give it a try!
