There are a myriad of motivational speakers and products. Many are very good but few have the ability to motivate everyone how uses them. Why is this? How can one person get motivated at a seminar while the person beside him remains unaffected? Well, any good motivational product or service must recognize the fact that we each get motivated differently. It must also take into account the things that keep people motivated in the long-term and do not just give them a short-term motivational boost that wears off after a few days or weeks!
In the realm of hypnosis and NLP these factors have been studies closely and some very good techniques have been developed to ensure motivation is something everyone can experience and sustain until they reach their objectives.

Every one of us has the motivation to move towards the things we like and to move away from the things we do not like but depending on the type of person you are one of these motivations will be dominant over the other.

You can tell which type you are by reviewing your thinking processes. Those of you who think about the potential future rewards of performing an action are very much “the moving towards” personality type.
Those of you who take action in order to keep negative things at bay or in an attempt to escape trouble or uncomfortable feelings are firmly rooted in the “away from” group.
To ascertain which personality type you belong to read the following two statements and determine which one resonates with you more.
1. You gain an inheritance and never have to worry about money again. You never need to return to a normal working environment and never have to worry about paying your bills again. You have the means to eliminate all of your financial problems easily. In addition you have the means to eliminate most of your other problems.
2. You gain an inheritance and buy the house of your dreams. You get the car of your dreams also. You can buy anything you want and look after yourself and your family financially for the rest of your lives. You have the means and the ability to achieve any goal you choose.
Which statement seems more enticing to you? If it is the first statement then you are primarily driven to move away from the things you do not like. If the second statement is more enticing then you are the type of person who likes to move towards the things you like.
The way to use the knowledge about your personality type to help you achieve you desires is simple. If you are motivated to move away form things you do not like then you must envision what life will be like if you do not take action. Imagine the problems that will beset you if you remain inactive! Then envision the results you will get from taking action with all your problems successfully avoided.
On the other hand, if you are a person who likes to move towards the things you like envision what it will be like if you do not take action. Imagine lacking all those things you now want. Realise that this is the price you will pay for inaction! Now envision taking action and gaining all those things that you now want.
Both personality types should try to evoke strong emotion in both their visions as emotional input is a great motivator.
